Tè Nou was a beautiful success as we celebrated our second annual Environmental Summit.
Our inaugural summit centered on Black Futurism, bringing together a powerful panel of community experts, from honoring our elders to youth collaborators, who shared visions of a future rooted in respect, stewardship, and intentional care for Mother Earth. Together, we explored what it means to envision and cultivate an environment that sustains both our people and the land.
This year, our second annual summit expanded that vision through immersive workshops that examined the interconnected elements of the Earth and how each directly affects us. By grounding our conversations in lived experience, ancestral knowledge, and environmental awareness, we created space for a deeper understanding of how caring for the planet is inseparable from caring for ourselves and our communities.
Our outdoor summit nourished both the body and spirit. Guests were fed with culturally rooted Haitian cuisine and provided groceries through food rescue efforts, ensuring nourishment extended beyond the day itself. The space overflowed with abundance, meditation, chanting, dancing, and shared joy created a collective experience of grounding, healing, and connection.
We are deeply excited for what’s next. Please stay tuned for upcoming workshops as we prepare to build our 10-year plan and continue cultivating a future rooted in care for the land, our people, and generations to come.
